Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to ask them what they are looking to do with singing/music. Are they just doing it for fun or for a career?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied music for 8 years and focused 7 of those years in learning vocal techniques. I am well trained in other aspects of music like theory and musicianship.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge 50$ per hour for each lesson. I am able to be flexible at times depending on the case.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by attending CSUDH in 2019 and graduated in 2022 with a bachelor's in music education. I just found it very interesting teaching people about voice.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked mainly with beginners in voice and mostly 1 on 1. but I can work with more experienced singers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
2018 when I went to go sing at Carnegie Hall in New York with my first college.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise them to not be afraid to explore other genres of music and be open to opportunities.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about what habits they need to start adopting and what will be healthy for them. In my opinion, the voice is a very sensitive instrument and we need to take care of it just as much as we do with our body.
