Mystic Moves- Bellydance & Bollywood
About
Safe, friendly environment learning Bellydance and Bollywood dance for fitness, fun and choreography!
Meera's musical upbringing has trained her to be an Artist since the age of four. Daughter of a Classical Indian Tabla player and an Indian & Oriental dancer, this multi-award-winning Dancer has entertained and captivated audiences internationally, reaching six different continents.
Meera's precision as an Artist captures the intricacies of rhythm, as she gracefully reveals soulful expression. Her stage presence is powerful, yet playful with her distinct signature style. Having performed for dignitaries, royalty, and worldwide audiences, she was chosen as the Artist to represent the ancient to modern progression of India in the Commonwealth Olympic Games Bid for 2010, and has performed and choreographed in Bollywood movies. She tours both as a solo Artist, and a Principal Dancer and Choreographer of Miles Copeland's world-renowned dance company "Bellydance Superstars", and has taught at the prestigious "Ahlan Wa Sahlan" festival in Cairo, Egypt for over 10 years. She has also produced and released four fitness-inspired Instructional DVD's of Bellydance and Dances of India.
Meera's style of dancing is inspired by elements of Egyptian and Cabaret bellydancing, with the natural essence of her East Indian heredity and technique flowing through each performance. Focusing on various dances of India, bellydance, and bollywood dance, Meera has created her distinctive "InFusion" style by harmoniously blending these styles together, while still honoring the technique and aesthetics from deeply rooted traditions of Classical and Folk Dances of India. Today, Meera carries on the tradition of her ancestor's musical background, and pursues her artistic career before audiences around the world.
