We teach practical and effective self-defense and Karate to students of all ages. We also teach traditional Okinawa weapons that is hard to find in the area. Character building traits and self-confidence are just a few of the many benefits of training Martial Arts at Bushikan Karate Dojo.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We invite new students to try the classes out for free for one week. Once they enroll, younger students will have a more experienced student assigned to them to help them through the classes. Adult students are placed in the regular adult class and the exercises will be tailored to their level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The Bushikan Karate Dojo has 3 full time instructors. Sensei Franco has competed internationally on the Peruvian and Venezuelan teams and in the USA. He currently teaches at our affiliate dojo's around the world when he is not home in San Diego. The Bushikan Karate Dojo also teaches at several area elementary and pre-schools in their after school programs. Self-Defense seminars for corporations and businesses are also possible.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We do, it is a set fee for unlimited classes per month for Adults and children. Pee Wee's, age 3-5, come twice per week for a set fee.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all types of students from ones with natural abilities to ones who are not quite as athletic. No one is turned away or discouraged because they are not coordinated, all students can learn to defend themselves. Our school teaches students with attention issues and many of our students have greatly improved their focus and ability to persevere through the training.
