We are not commercial-driven and we are focused on high quality training. Our martial arts is a way of life and we enjoy the physical and intellectual education of American Kenpo.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before a student registers for class we encourage them to watch actual classes and ask questions so they can see and know a little more on what to expect. Before their first class they will go through an orientation to go over basics, formalities and the learning binder that serves as a training map as well as progress tracker.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Myself and all our instructors have been training in American Kenpo under Ed Parker direct lineage instructors for many years. Instructors that have learned other systems as well have brought their knowledge to compliment the core American Kenpo. Each instructor regardless of rank still actively and consistently train to keep honing our skills so we can bring the best training to our students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We understand life, work, school,
and work can be challenging so we have different pricing programs depending on an individual's ability and schedule to attend group classes and private lessons. We also have family discounts.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been a student and Kenpo practitioner for a number of years. A great way to learn is to teach. Also first and foremost I am very serious about self defense. As a woman and as a parent I want to make sure all are armed with skills to protect ourselves against the dangers. I love to see kids even as young as 4 learn to be aware and develop self confidence and skills to fight aggressors. Teaching gave me a way to give back the gift of American Kenpo (which really works) that I have been given.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students from 4 to 72, male and female, with or without disabilities, beginners to those with previous martial arts training, with people looking for just physical conditioning to people who want to learn the full intellectual and physical genius that American Kenpo truly is.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Everytime our students aka kenpo family comes together for class, seminars or open mat time, there's great co-learning, respect and fun. We're very proud of the instructor-student bond.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make a list of things you like, don't like and understand what you want to get out of the training. Watch a class, ask questions about everything that you feel is important to you in order to learn. Interview other students and parents to see what they think of the school. Look at the facility, teaching aids and class structures. Visit other schools to compare.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
All questions are welcome. Students must understand what they want to get out of the training, what time commitments they can make and how much effort they want to put in their training. I always recommend a minimum of two classes a week to appreciate, assimilate lessons and show progress.
