What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first thing we teach is to show respect and to be a person  of honor.

We then focus on martial arts techniques and training methods to allow our students to constantly progress.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

5th Degree Black Belt in Karate . 3rd Degree Black Belt in Judo. 1st place Long Beach Internationals sparring. 1st place Hayastan Grappling Challenge. 1st place San Diego Grand Internationals weapons.

How did you get started teaching?

I used to sleep in my bed and wake up inside the dojo. Both of my parents are master rank in martial arts.


What types of students have you worked with?

Children and adults. Competitor and non competitor. Beginner and expert.


Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A teen finally standing up to a bully. She didn't get hurt, didn't get in trouble. She stopped the bully from stealing her iPad and she made her mother happy, that she has gained the confidence to stand up for herself.


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Learn of the teachers credentials. Do they compete outside of their school? Do they have hidden fees? Do they seem fair?


What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What do you want to accomplish through training? Will you be a dedicated student? Are you ready to progress further than you have ever done before?
