Kids are enjoying their lessons with Ms brittany. She is fun. She plays other instruments to make lessons more upbeat.

Brittany is so lovely. She’s positive, upbeat, and it’s clear that she loves what she does. I’m a bit shy and I have anxiety, and that’s why I wanted to take voice lessons. She made me feel at ease right away. I will continue lessons with Brittany indefinitely.

    Frequently asked questions

I first try to assess my new student’s level and then we talk about their intentions for taking lessons.  Every student is different from the next, so I determine personalized short/long term goals and go from there.  I have found it especially helpful to pick a specific genre/style of music/artist to focus on studying.  The more focus, and less jumping around doing this or that, the more progress.

Kids tend to be better with traditional method books like Bastien, Faber, or Alfred.  With teens and adults I tend to teach on a “song by song” basis.

I was recruited by a parent because she decided I had a great voice after seeing me perform in church.  She found out I also played piano and hired me at 14 years old to teach her daughter piano lessons.  I then went on to study music in college and taught for 5 years at the Orange County Music Academy after earning my Bachelors in Music Ed.  In 2016 I opened my own studio where I currently teach.

    SO MANY TYPES!

    (haha)

young, old, quiet, bold...piano, voice, ukulele, guitar, drums...

talented advanced students, complete beginners, special education/learning disability/autistic types...

types that have to communicate by semi-sign language and typing on their phone because they crashed into a bridge in a skydiving accident and can no longer talk —types!

musical theater types, rock and roll types, jazz types, classical types...  you name it, I’ve probsbly taught it!

My 10 year old student who I just started working with a couple of months ago is nailing almost the entire first half of Bohemian Rhapsody, an incredibly challenging piece for his age, and has set a goal to memorize and complete it by the end of the year.

Ask good questions and come to class prepared to get the most out of lessons.

Do you have any musical experience?

Do you already own an instrument?

Are you committed to daily practice or are you a “weekend warrior”?

Are you learning to become a performer or just for fun?  Or are you already gigging regularly and just need guidance?

Which genre/style/artist will be your primary focus?

Do you plan on writing music of your own?
