Ka Laam’s Dance
About
Dance is my greatest passion and it’s what I’ve been doing all my life. I specialize teaching in classical ballet, Modern Contemporary, salsa, bachata, Jazz, heels, and choreography. I have eared different Royal Academy of Dance Ballet certifications in Hong Kong and I came to LA at the age of 17 to pursue a degree in Theater and Dance. I’ve also trained in Hip Pop, Tap, Ballroom, African Dance, and Bellydance etc because being a versatile dancer is important. I also offer stretch and strengthening as well which is good for everyone.
I have trained under Tina Landon(previous Janet Jackson’ choreographer), Antonio D’Byod(pervious principal dancer in Alvin Ailey’s Company), John Todd, Kenneth Walker, Amy Allen, Jeff Hendrix etc. I have also performed in different places such as The American College Dance Conference; The LA Bachata Festival and different dance concerts.
I stand out because I am a patient teacher with a confidence building system in class. I know what is the right technique for my students and I am all about my students success. Nothing makes me feel better than seeing my students improvements.
I love seeing my students success and improvement through our classes. It is a great feeling when my students learn new things and set new goals for themselves at the end of our session. I genuinely enjoy teaching and share my passion to others.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually talk to my students about their goals and expectations, and if they have any injuries or things I should know. My goal is to create a safe place for students so making them comfortable is my first step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been studying classical ballet from a young age and I’ve earned different RAD certifications through out the years. I came to LA at the age of 17 to pursue my degree in dance and theater. I graduated from CSUDH with honor and I’ve received different dance scholarships for being an outstanding student. I was also part of a salsa/bachata fusion dance team called Dancerswithcurve and performed at the LA bachata festival.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am willing to work with everyone because dance shouldn’t be limited, I offer package discounts and group discounts.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach beginners to advanced and toddlers to seniors. I think there’s no limit for dancing, so I encourage everyone to do it
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Talk to your instructor and find out if he/she is what you’re looking for. Make sure they’re responsive and supportive.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Don’t be afraid to start a lesson! Think about your goal, expectation, why do you need a class etc. if you are not clear about what you want, your teacher should be able to guide you through the process.
