About

My teaching style is a little different than most teachers. If I am not teaching ballet or a set-structured class(i.e. contemp), my style is unique. While I often teach choreographed movement, my class is a facilitation of improvised task-based, kinesthetic exercises that allow students to explore dance not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. All of the work that I do with the dancers goes beyond the studio.

I like to incorporate teaching responsibility, character, respect, kindness and love in all my classes. Often times when I travel to workshops, I have my students bring notebooks for the entire weekend so we can reflect on their growth on a tangible, humanistic level. The mission of my class is to not only make them a better dancer, but a better human being so they can become the best version of themselves. I'd be more than happy to discuss more detail about this with you over the phone or whichever form of communication works best for you. My strengths are in contemporary, improv, motivational development, and team-building.

I look to create an experience for my students, rather than just another class. I really believe I could create an experience for your dancers!

I love the process! I really enjoy seeing when that switch goes off in the dancers mind and they start becoming consciously aware of what they are doing, but more importantly how they are doing it.

Frequently asked questions

Typically when I get to know a new student, I start out with an open discussion. I think it's important for us to get to know each other and discuss our goals for the lessons! Depending on what style we are learning, I may ask the dancer to just 'show me who they are', or simply move in a way that pleases them.

I've had over 11 years in dance training and over 4 years in dance education. I work professional in Los Angeles dancing with artists such as Alabama Shakes, The Mowgli's and even the world-reknowned Los Angeles Opera. I've danced with several companies in Los Angeles; the lastest being Clairobscur Dance Company. I've work as assitant choreographer for some of the top names in the industry like Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, Jeff Dimitriou and many others.

Aside from the training and experience, dance education is my passion. I've taught ages 3 - 99 and my work goes beyond the studio. I believe its important to instill values into your dance lessons so you leave not just a better dancer, but a better person.

I've always been a teacher in life and in anything that I did. I am extremely passionate about helping others and motivating people to become the best human beings they can be! I started teaching when as a teenager, and then moved into full time teaching when I relocated to Los Angeles. I truly fell in love with dancing.

All levels and all ages!
