We have the best female water polo team in the United States. Our players swim, pass, shoot and understand the game well enough to be Division 1 college players or Olympians by the time they're out of high school. Our boys program is right there as well just haven't had as much success but they have had success and getting national team players and Division 1 college players.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I see where the student currently in their swimming skills and then work from there. All students are different and need different was of being taught how to swim.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- 7 years competitive swimming and water polo as a swimmer and player 1986 to 1993.
- 1 year assistant college swim coach at Fullerton College 1993 to 1994.
- 5 years assistant water polo coach boys and girls at Laguna Beach HS 1997 to 2002.
- 3 years hear water polo coach boys and girls at Laguna Beach HS 2004 to 2007
- 5 years head swim team coach at Laguna Beach HS.1997 to 2002 and 2004 to 2007.
- 3 years head girls water polo coach at Dana Hills HS.
- 27 years head coach and owner of Laguna Beach Swim club 1995 to present.
- 23 years head coach and owner of Laguna Beach water polo club 1999 to 2020. Still coach, just not the owner anymore.
- 32 years private swim lessons for the city or Orange, City if Laguna Beach and privately at my personal house pool. 1990 to present
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
at my house pool:
$40 per 1/2 hour private lesson
$25 per person for semi private swim lessons 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 max.
If I travel to customers pool.
$60 per 1/2 hour private lesson
$35 per person for semi private swim lessons 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 max.
How did you get started teaching?
Started with family friends when I was a teenager. Then word of mouth and kids on my swimming & water polo teams.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and all abilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Seeing my students get better every time they get a lesson are my favorite moments.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Having more than one coach is a great thing for all sports. Everyone should have more than one perspective on learning how to swim or play any sport.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should let the teachers see how they swim first and then listen to what the teacher says needs to be done.
