What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin my new students with water safety first. Next, I will get your child comfortable in the water. Then begaining front floats and back floats. Next, we will practice blowing bubbles and breathing. I focus on Rhythmic breathing. It makes it much easier to teach a modified stroke like free style and back stroke. Safety is my main concern. I want your child to be water safe before moving forward with anything else.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was on the swim team since grade school and into college. I also played water polo in college. I became a lifeguard for American Red Cross at the age of 15. I worked LA County lifeguard for Santa Fe Dam . I also compete in open water swims. I currently coach a swim team and have been teaching swimming for many years. I'm a certified USA swim coach. I work with all ages in the water from 6 months old to adults getting ready for a open water swim or just learning how to swim.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at the YMCA . I started teaching with my club swim team when I was 14 years old.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked all types of students. I have many private lessons with special needs. And also started a special needs competive swim team . I teach and coach all ages .
