About
Hello!
Outside of my diverse corprate busines experiene I love to swim. I also LOVE children. I have been a swimmer all of my life and swam competitively up until college. I was a LA County Lifeguard for 7 years and enjoyed teaching swim lessons to children, teens and adults. I also taught aqua aerobics classes as well. I believe that every child should know how to swim and have to ability to gain a true love for water. It is my belief that every child should know the importance of water survival skills as well as how to swim.
My patience, enthusiasm and ability to motivate and effectively communicate with my students to accomplish their swimming goals has been and will continue to be my primary focus.
I love working with children and adults on water safety skills, teaching them how to swim but also working to improve their swimming techniques for all strokes.
I enjoy seeing the progress my students make weekly as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First is to get them comfortable with the water. I personally do not offer swimming lessons for more than a half hour at a time.
I try to start out my lessons on an experimental basis. What would you like to learn? Can you swim in the five feet by yourself? Do you like jumping in? Be sure to ask the parents as well as the child what they would like to get out of their lessons.
I typically will carry them out to the water and see how comfortable they are... from there I start with teaching them how to kick, float on their back, or blow bubbles it really depends on the child.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a LA County Lifeguard for 7 year and taught swim lessons to children of all ages. I also am a swimmer myself. Those years of experience have helped me become a good swim instructor.
