Kim is by far one of the best theatre instructors I've had. Understanding, professional, intelligent--she really knows the actor's process inside and out and helps you learn how to make the strongest choices. You won't just have a better piece or show after working with Kim--you'll be a better performer. She will push you to be better than you thought you could be. 10/10 would recommend.

Kim is absolutely amazing in so many ways! She genuinely cares about all of the students/casts that she works with/directs/teaches and truly takes the time to help them grow and develop to get to the next level. She is also a magnificent actress herself and a wonderful mentor. I feel truly blessed to have gotten the chance to work with her on a number of projects and would recommend her without question to anyone looking for someone to guide them in the right direction. Her brilliance and creativity is truly remarkable!!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

If it is acting to bring in a monologue that speaks to them. Dancing i will ask if they have any video clips I can watch. I also have a short question form so I can know them a little better before we first meet.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Please see my website to find out this information.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing will depend on what a student needs and if I need to come to them. For dancing I will need to rent a dance studio and that will change prices as well.

How did you get started teaching?

I originally started teaching to make enough money to survive as a performer. I soon found that teaching was as much of a calling to me as performing and both are my passion.

What types of students have you worked with?

I mostly work with high school students but have some middle school, college and professionals as well.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

i had the privilege of judging at the California State Thespian Festival. I saw over 1500 students participate in performance, design and technical theatre. It was incredible watching these young performers create all this art in one weekend.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look at the teachers background and reviews. Then have a short interview on the phone to see if you communicate well with them.
