Tri City Aikido

About

At Tri City Aikido, you can expect a comprehensive teaching of the traditional martial art known as Aikido. The head instructor, Anthony Campagna has 40 years of martial arts training. Our school/dojo opened over 27 years ago. Our teaching staff has over 70 combined years of experience. You can find out much more at TriCityAikido.com or https://www.facebook.com/TriCityAikidoCA/

Teaching the art of Aikido is very gratifying. I have come to help educate people in a martial art that creates friendships for a lifetime. Since the art is based in non-resistance, the object of training is to not fight. Sounds strange, but you learn how not to struggle when engaging with others in confrontation.

We enrolled our 7-year old son at Tri-City Aikido in summer 2017. He is a shy and smallest kid in his class, and we thought learning martial art can help to build up his confidence and learn some self-defense skills. We love the way Sensei Anthony teaches the kids class: he puts strong focus in discipline, teaches kids how to protect themselves and he knows how to make the class fun! After a few months training, our son became more confident and developed situational awareness while learning basic Aikido techniques.
Seeing the benefits of martial art on my son, I started training in the adult classes myself the same year. Sensei Anthony is very tentative to beginners like me. I got to train with black-belts and it certainly helped me to understand the Aikido techniques more quickly. Highly recommended dojo for tots, kids, beginners and black-belts who want to learn the essence of martial arts while having fun!

I love Tricity Aikido and have been training for over 3 years. Great sensei, very compassionate, great group of students and the best Aikido in the bay area in my opinion.

The lessons are always based around an insight into the art. The practice is not just concentrated on Aikido, in and of itself, but in the larger context of self defense and body movement.
Although Aikido is Budo without conflict, this doesnt remove the ability to defend yourself, especially the way it is taught at Tri City Aikido.
I am pleased to have found this dojo.

When I moved to the Bay Area last September, I started right away looking for a dojo. Having been an aikidoka for over seven years, it was crucial for me to find a good place where I could continue my training. When I stepped into Tri City Aikido, Sensei Campagna welcomed me with open arms and made me feel comfortable and at home. His professionalism and mastery were invaluable. Tri City Aikido is definitely a place I would recommend for any aikidoka looking for a warm and friendly place.
