About
At the McBride School of Irish Dance, we are committed to each and every dancer at every level! Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our brand new beginner dancers will learn the four light shoe dances first: reel, light jig, slip jig and single jig. Once they have mastered these dances to music, they will be promoted to the advanced beginner classes where they begin to learn the hard shoe dances: hornpipe, hard jig and set dance.
As dancers gain experience, they learn harder and more complicated steps, and progress throught the different levels of beginner, advance beginner, novice, prizewinner and championship. The McBride school offers many opportunites to perform and compete throughout the year.
The McBride School has classes in Dublin, Oakland, Lafayette, San Ramon, San Rafael, Vallejo, and coming this winter to Tracy and Livermore, California.
