About
I love dance fitness. Dance is my life. I decided to make it my job so it is the core of my day. Everything I do revolves around being active. I think others can do the same for themselves if they choose to and it is my job to help them make that change as easy as possible. Dance is the most fun way to get cardio and Strong Nation is a combination of dance and HITT. I also do Zumbini so we can get the kids started on a healthy lifestyle early on.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My lessons are virtual. The process is the same with everyone, everytime. I tell you what you are about to experience and make sure you are prepared. I'll give you some tips on how to follow the class and then we go for it. It's really just follow the leader and if you've never danced you'll work up a sweat trying. You're the only judge of yourself and if I were you I'd be pretty proud just for getting up and going.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified in Zumba, Zumbini, Strong Nation. I have been dancing ballroom, mainly latin rhythms, regularly for 2 years. I have about 6 years dance training all together. I've participated in some very large dance competitions and I am still a competitive ballroom dancer. I compete all around America. My classes are virtual and pre-recorded so I can do them from anywhere.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, for a private live session. It is usually $4 dollars. I also have pre-recorded sessions posted on Zumba.com for $4 with package deals and discounts. But if you subscribe to my YouTube Channels the morning session is on Xochitl M. Lpz or the afternoon session on The Ba.Bl. Reel and they are both free to subscribe and streaming for 2-3 hours. But because it's free sometimes it comes on late and sometimes I don't post at all. It is also the same class all week. The $4 on Zumba gives you a variety of choices when you have time. You can absolutely do both. The $4 is more like a donation if you are a regular customer of mine and prefer YouTube.
How did you get started teaching?
I'm a dancer at heart. I want to dance as long as I can. I think it's something people of all ages and different levels can do. I really wanted to be a ballroom teacher so I was getting certified in everything I could to get the job. Then I decided that competing as a pro is a big jump. So, I'm staying amatuer until I've won a few awards and in the meantime I am instructing dance fitness.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with men and women mostly over 30 at all levels of dance and fitness. I think what they all have in common is that they love the energy.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Well, because of Covid 19, I have not been to any events in almost a year. I used to really love the concerts in the park with all the vendors. Comic Con seems fun. You get to meet some pretty big stars. I would go one year just to meet the cast of Mayans MC.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with someone who fits your personality. The most important thing about dance fitness is having fun.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Don't be shy. If you need a break just take a break. Have water available. Our job is to offer all variables of the dance and exercise so everyone can get the full benefit. If there is a wheelchair or a hearing impairment, something like that let us know how to make your experience better. We are always excited to have you join.
