Greetings, Earthling!

I teach a play a variety of "world" percussion and marching percussion instruments:

North Indian Tabla, Snare Drum, Tenor Drums, West African Drumming (Ewe), Indian Vocal Percussion, South Indian Kanjira, Frame Drum (Bendir), Riq (Arabic Tambourine), Rhythm Ear Training, Svar Gram (North Indian melodic ear training), Jazz rhythm, and more.

I have been teaching percussion for 20 years and have been playing percussion for 25 years. I have my BFA and MFA from the California Institute of the Arts where I studied with Pt Swapan Chaudhuri, Randy Gloss, Andrew Grueschow, I Nyoman Wenten, Yeko Ladzekpo, Ustad Aashish Kan, and Houman Pourmedhi. I currently reside in Humboldt County in California where I teach private lessons and community classes as well as perform with several percussion ensembles and kirtan groups.

For my Humboldt County community classes, drums are provided for use in class.

I teach all ages and ability levels.
