About

I have a B.M and M.M of Music Education from the University of Redlands. I have been teaching private voice and piano lessons for over 20 years. I tailor each lesson to fit each individual student's needs. With encouragement and nurturing I can help the most timid child, or adult student grow in confidence and self-assurance.

I enjoy working with students of all ages, abilities and goals. My greatest joy is watching the process of my students develop into artistic and confident musicians.

I have been taking voice lessons with Tina for the past 4 months and have loved every minute of it. Tina is an amazing teacher and tailors the lessons to your needs and wants. Would highly recommend to those who are beginners, intermediates, or advanced.

Shes very professional and very patient. I was impressed with her musical education from Redlands University. Her help was instrumental in my ability to stretch my voice and actually sing with the Redlands Community Chorus under the direction of Jeff Rickard. I was able to sing the Brahms Requiem first time out. That stretched me beyond my expectations, especially since I consider myself a guitar playing folk singer with no formal musical training. Thank you Christina for opening doors I never knew existed. I would highly recommend her, no matter what age you are or your musical training.

I came to Christina as a beginning singer in my 40s. She has been a patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic instructor. She is a great music teacher; meeting me where Im at and helping me progress with every lesson. I highly recommend her for lessons!

    Frequently asked questions

I treat a first lesson like an interview. I encourage new students and/or parents to ask me questions about my experience and qualifications. I then ask the student about his/her music experience and goals.

For new voice students, I analyze their vocal range, sight reading and ear training skills in order to establish a base in which we will build upon. I teach voice lessons to students of all ages and abilities.

For new piano students, I analyze the student's rhythm and music skills in order to establish a base in which we will build upon. I excel at teaching younger students by incorperating music learning games into each lesson. This helps in keeping younger students excited and motivated. Most times, students don't realize that they are learing music theory while playing music based learning games!

I have an B.M. and M.M. in Music Education from the University of Redlands. I have served as Music Director at the University United Methodist Church, First Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church and Community Presbyterian Church in Redlands, CA.
