Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process for working with a student will depend upon individual needs. We will discuss what the goals are in regards to technique or choreographic needs and work from there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been studying dance since I was a young child. I spent most of my young dance career in the competition circuit. I started teaching ballet at the age of 16. I have taken classes all over the Bay Area and out of state as weel. I am continuously working to improve my knowledge of movement and technique.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Classes are all currently virtual. Group lessons run at $10 per person/each class. Private lessons start at $50/hr with deeper discounts the more hours committed upfront. Private sessions typically run 30-45 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
I began my teaching experience by assisting classes at my dance studio. When I was 16, I noticed a need for ballet classes at my studio. Having trained at a classial ballet school, I offered to share my skills with our younger students. My passion for teaching grew from there!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 2 all the way through adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you are committed. With the increase in virtual learning, I think it is going to take a true interest in dance and committment to learning to make any experience successful.
