Shannon's Singing Lessons
About
ONLINE SINGING LESSONS Hello! I am a 23 year old musical theatre student in Southern California! I have been singing and performing in musical theatre and jazz styles for 15 years! I currently run an after school musical theatre program for elementary school students in Corona! I am very passionate about working with kids and helping them learn proper singing and auditioning technique at a young age! I can travel to you and help your child work on audition pieces, stage presence, and build an audition book! Having 2 younger sisters and working with hundreds of elementary school aged children has made me very well versed in modifying my teaching style for different personalities! I charge $50/hr

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically try and get a grasp of my students knowledge of musical theatre and their vocal capabilities. From there, we will know what to work on and how to broaden their knowledge of their craft! I will help your students figure out what "type" they are and help them build an audition book of songs and cuts that will be useful for them at auditions. I also will help them understand how to cut and read sheet music and how to approach an accompanist in an audition.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been studying for aBFA in musical theatre and currently study under Carole Deandrea who has 50+ years of Broadway experience!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50/hr plus a small fee for travel costs!
How did you get started teaching?
My mother is an elementary school teacher and recruited me a few years ago to start a theatre program at her school! We both are great advocates of arts education and I caught the teaching bug!
What types of students have you worked with?
i've worked with students usually aged 10-12 who have varying experience levels with singing and performing.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Study with someone that challenges you but ultimately makes you feel comfortable. The best progress with singing is made when we are comfortable with our voices and those helping us!
