About

My favorite part about teaching is watching a new student develop as a drummer, reach their goals, and reap the rewards of their devoted practice. I love seeing a student transform over a couple months of taking lessons. Seeing them go from struggling with something initially, then a few weeks or months down the road, after we have put in our focus and energy into improving it and mastering it, seeing them absolutely crush that same drum groove, rudiment, or exercise! Being able to see someone else grow, achieve their goals, and improve their drumming and knowing I was able to help them get their, is incredibly rewarding and satisfying to me.

    Frequently asked questions

I will take inventory of what the student already knows and take into consideration their goals and dreams for their drumming career or hobby. If the student is a total beginner I will usually show them them hand and foot technique, go over some basic drum rudiments and warm ups, and then do my best to have them walking out of the lesson playing a standard rock drum groove. Get them feeling confident that they can learn drums! Then build from there.
If the student is intermediate or advanced I will focus on strengthening their already good qualities by giving them things to practice that will refine them and achieve higher levels of quality, and give them exercises and information for the areas where they need improvement.
For students of all levels I will create a weekly lesson plan with clear workable exercises to help them improve their drumming and achieve the level of proficiency and excellence they desire to attain.

Associates in Drum Performance from Musicians Institute, Hollywood, CA.
Years of experience playing in bands, recording in studio, playing live, and being hired on professional gigs.

Currently my rate is $50 for a one hour lesson.

Find someone who's drumming you like and admire. Make sure they really can play! Then learn from them and put in the work. Give a month and then check your results to see if you are making progress. If you are then keep going!

Do your best to know your vision of where you want to go. What level of playing do you want to achieve. Example, do you want to do this as a hobby for fun, or more serious to be able to play in bands in your neighborhood or church. Or do you want to eventually play professionally and go on tours.
