Private Drum Instructor
About
I've been teaching in the San Diego area, and Southern California generally, for the past 40 years.
I've been a very busy professional in this area as a recording artist, freelance musician, theater musician, and published author as well as doing a lot of teaching.
I enjoy the creativity of performing music, and also sharing that with my students and helping them reach their goal-whether learning to play a new instrument or refine what they been doing in their own musical careers.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I'd like to find out where the student is by first having a conversation with them and their ideas and goals then having them play some and I can quickly assess where they're at usually having done that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of arts and music from San Diego State University where I am currently employed. I also teach at Grossmont College and privately.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are currently $80 per hour at my home in El Cajon. if by the off-chance there's a need for me to travel to the students home there is a charge for that usually $20
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching while I was still in college back in the mid 80s and have been enjoying it ever since
