Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During your first lesson, expect to discuss your vocal and musical experience as well as any goals you have while taking voice lessons. We will work through various vocal exercises so that I can become more familiar with your voice and determine where to start as we develop your instrument. For your first lesson, please bring a song to perform. You can bring sheet music, sing acapella, or even with an online track. This is a very low key way for me to get to know you better as a singer. Even something you sing along to on the radio or sing in the shower will do just fine.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. Music- Voice Penn State University 2006
M.A.T. Music Education- Montclair State University 2015 (NJ Teacher certification- P-12 Music)
Previous experience includes work conducting both middle school and high school choirs in public schools, directing and music directing broadway style musicals, and teaching voice lessons at local music studios and in my own private studio since 2006.
over 15 years of experience as a professional singer/actor/dancer in musical theatre and opera.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Rates can be discussed by request. I do offer pricing options based on the location of the lessons. I teach from my home, your home, and online.
How did you get started teaching?
