I was asked by my chemistry teacher when I was in high school to help another kid. I did and then I took the test and knew all the questions and all the answers. I concluded that teaching was where it was at.

Seeing a student who had struggled for a long, long time finally reach the goal he had been striving for.

Don't look just for technical expertise but look for a teacher who you can connect with. A martial art instructor can become a lifelong mentor so you'll want one that you relate well with.

What do you want to accomplish? Are you wanting to do this for the fun? Are you wanting to do it to learn how to fight (self defense)? Are you wanting to do this for sport? Are you wanting to do this to improve yourself as a whole, become a better person and end up with a much more fulfilling life? The last is in our opinion the highest goal of the martial arts and one we strive to provide to our students.
