Learn Stuff On The Drums.
About
I remember taking my first lesson when I was 13. I had been itching to get behind a kit ever since I first saw Garth wail on that set in Wayne's World, and this was my first step! What. A. Bore. Sitting in the room learning music theory on a practice pad, with a monotone and unenthused teacher nearly sucked the passion right out of me. I strive to have the opposite effect with my students, I want our sessions to amplify passion.
To start with, each student gets their own lesson. We'll set goals and take appropriate paths to achieve them. I don't have a "one lesson fits all" gameplan, everyone has different needs and wants, and I'd like to focus on those specifically.
I prefer online lessons, but if you're local I use a spare bedroom as a mini music studio. I have an electric drumkit with microphones, and it's all done through headphones so you can set the volume to your liking. Or I can travel to you (or we can do online sessions) and you can learn while playing on your own kit.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We can discuss the student's wants, either on the phone, email/text, or in person. I like to make sure I can offer what the student is looking for before we get started.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As of creating this, I've been recreationally playing the drums for 24 years. In high school I played in a punk band with a couple friends. After high school I continued playing, only mostly alone/with headphones. In my late 20's I filled in (4 gig) for a band's drummer while he was out from a knee surgery. Currently I am working with a guitarist creating tracks, and occasionally stream on Twitch.tv/trithir
