About
Hi! I’m Tomi Felix. I have been playing competitive tennis for 14 years, including my college tennis career in an NAIA D1 school for both doubles and singles positions. I’m currently a coach for Junior Varsity in Santana High School and private coach on the side. I work with any age and level. My best skill is ground strokes, serves, and strategy. I love seeing the improvement in my students and how they fall in love with the sport!

How did you get started teaching?
I started coaching at the club I played tennis at because my coach hired me to help him with clinics and private lessons. After that, students started recommending me as they saw improvement in their game.
What types of students have you worked with?
Kids, adolescents and adults for both competitive and recreational levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently working on my tennis since I will play two more years of college tennis to get my master's degree with an athletic scholarship; I believe my motivation can help my students as I am still an active competitor.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I love when students ask me questions regarding technique, strategy, foot work; I'll always find the way to make tennis fun and get better every day!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Open to any doubts and questions! You can always learn something new with tennis, and questions are great since there's always room for improvement!
