    Frequently asked questions

The first step I take when working with a new student is to figure out what their goals are. Next, I establish where they're currently at by giving them a skills test on each shot, and video their strokes so that we can create an archive to show their progression. This allows me to reverse engineer what it'll take to reach their goal and what training/repetitions need to be practiced each day. Whether it's wanting to play competitively (tournaments, high school, college, professionally), or to learn the game as a hobby at a social level with friends and get great exercise, I can match our lessons to your goals!

I have coached at Division II (conference champions '19) and Division I collegiate levels, at high performance academies, and at vacation destinations around the world. I have three years experience as being tennis director at an 10k member athletic club. I've been trained by Tennis Hall of Fame coach Vic Braden, Andy Fitzell, and Steve Smith. Certified Professional USPTA and PTR coach. Most singles and doubles wins in Colorado Mesa University school history. 3x high school #1 singles state champion. I've given over 10,000 lessons to teach my students the wonderful game of tennis. I've had students as young as 3 to 90 years young! My students had included ATP/WTA world-ranked professionals, celebrities, and Fortune 500 CEOs. I've used my masters degree in business administration to foster my thriving tennis teaching profession.

My standard pricing system is the same that I use at the various clubs I teach at in the Bay area. For an hour private lesson, $100. Bring a friend to make it a semi-private lesson for $50 each. For a group of 3 or more it's $40 each. Please feel free to message me for a more in depth breakdown or how you can save by getting a multiple lesson package.

As a young tennis student, I was introduced to the art of teaching at an early age through my private lessons at the Vic Braden Tennis College in St. George, Utah. As I progressed in my training, I was given opportunities to apply my learning by instructing other students in the program. This unique approach to education not only helped me solidify my understanding of the technical and tactical aspects of the sport but also honed my ability to effectively communicate my knowledge to others.

Over the years, I honed my teaching skills by instructing a range of students' ages and abilities, from kids my own age to adults. My passion for coaching reached new heights when I joined my college tennis team and was appointed as a student assistant coach for the men's and women's teams. My responsibilities included scheduling off-court conditioning, on-court drills, and warm-ups, as well as accompanying the teams to tournaments and providing match coaching.

This enriching experience ultimately led me to take on additional coaching roles, including serving as the tennis director at an athletic club and being hired as an assistant coach for a Division II women's team. My deep commitment to tennis and to the development of young athletes drives me to continuously seek out opportunities to make a positive impact in their lives.
