I am a songwriter and worship leader and want to coach other players who are eager to learn. Whether you want to learn how to be a great lead guitarist, acoustic strummer, or songwriter, I've got you covered. I am very flexible and will design a plan that takes you toward your goals!

I was highly impressed with the guitar lessons I received from Joel! Prior to his lessons, I was teaching myself, but I had reached my limit on the level at which I could play. Joel gave me the foundation of the specifics I needed to know about guitar; I learned more in those few lessons than I had by teaching myself for years! He was incredibly patient with me and made playing guitar what I looked forward to. Because of these lessons, I am now playing music that I had always wished I could play! 10/10 recommend learning from Joel.

I have been teaching guitar at my church but am now reaching out to students in my community who really want to learn.

I am very affordable for guitar lessons at $20/hr.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching guitar through my church as an act of service.

What types of students have you worked with?

Mostly kids but would love to work with adult players if they are just beginning.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently was hired as a worship leader at a Christian camp, playing guitar for the campers every day and often showing them how to play.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would make sure you are getting a good teacher that sets a pace you are comfortable with.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are your needs/goals? There are many avenues you can take on your guitar journey. Maybe you want to learn the guitar so that you can put music to your songs. Maybe you want to be able to solo on electric guitar. It's all up to you, and I will help you get there!
