About
I'm an International Yamaha Artist and Clinician - I have given over 1500 flute and piccolo clinics and have taught for 25 years. My students regularly win local, state, national and international competitions. Go to www.TracyHarrisFlute.com to read more about me and hear me live. I'm professor of flute at the College of Sequoias and Bakersfield College.
I love helping students play the flute better! It is so wonderful to help flute students of all levels become the best performers they can be. I love teaching all styles from band students to orchestral players. I believe in kind, honest and yes even FUN teaching with a spirit of teamwork and support.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always take the time to get to know my student and their family. I assess the new student's playing skills and ask them and, if it's a child, their family what their short and perhaps longer term goals are regarding the flute. I teach all levels online internationally on Zoom, Skype and Facetime and I teach everything from flute enthusiasts that just want to play the flute for fun to students who want to pursue a career in music. It's a joy to teach them all.

I have been a concert soloist, educator, author and am the flute professor at two universities
