About

Want to level up your game with proven international training? I help players of all ages build technique, strategy, and confidence on court.

I’m Daniel—a tennis coach in North County San Diego with 18+ years of playing experience and over 9 years of coaching. Originally from Vienna, Austria, I was ranked #12 nationally as a junior and trained at top academies including Burgenland Tennis Academy, ÖLSZ Südstadt (home to former ATP #3 Dominic Thiem and top 100 player Jurij Rodionov), and CTK Training Center Kirmayr in Brazil with former ATP #36 Carlos Kirmayr.

After moving to the US, I served as captain and #1 player at both Palomar College and San Diego City College—ranked #4 in California. Today, I bring that same high-level passion to coaching, having helped 75+ local players of all ages progress from beginners to confident, tournament-ready competitors.

After trying to improve my Tennis with many different coaches, Coach Daniel helped me improve like noone else. He cares for his students, he is very patient and has a great eye for every technical detail. He taught me a lot about the game of Tennis and the right shot selections to make for competitive play. He emphasizes on building the players confidence and he implements great drills to do so.

Frequently asked questions

I start by understanding the student’s goals with tennis — whether they want to play for fun, improve fitness, compete, or develop more advanced performance. From there, I assess their current technical level, including strokes, movement, and overall consistency. Based on that evaluation, I build a clear plan focused on improving fundamentals first, then progressing into more advanced skills like point construction, strategy, and match play depending on their goals.
I was trained at high-level tennis academies in both Brazil and Austria. In Brazil, I trained at the CTK Tennis Clinic in Serra Negra, where I developed a strong technical foundation. In Austria, I trained at the Südstadt Tennis Academy near Vienna — a well-known performance center where professional players, including Dominic Thiem (former ATP World No. 3), trained. These environments helped shape both my technical knowledge and coaching approach.
Yes, I have a standard hourly rate for private lessons. I also offer discounted rates for students who commit to ongoing weekly training after the first few sessions.
I started teaching after spending many years training competitively myself. Over time, I naturally began helping other players on court and realized I enjoyed breaking down technique and helping people improve. That led me to start coaching more formally, and I’ve been doing it ever since alongside my own tennis development.
