Hello! Before we swim let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old. Spending my youth swimming on club teams and being the captain of my high school swim team drove me to be an all state athlete. I continued my swimming career into college and now spend my free time practicing with the West Hollywood Masters team. I have been trained at the SwimRight Academy Championed by the four time Olympic gold medalist Lenny Krayzelburg. I was also an instructor at the West Hollywood Aquatic Center prior to the pandemic. There I taught private and group lessons that ranged in age from toddlers to adults. Over the last six years I have adopted a very specific style of teaching that focuses on proper technique and accommodation for all swim levels. I have used what I have learned through my years of swimming and teaching alike to create a method that is fun, engaging, and most importantly teaches people how to swim well. I am very passionate about teaching children to swim. In my opinion it is a vital of a life skill as reading or writing. I am on a never ending journey to teach as many people to swim as I can. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My main objective is to get students safe in the water. The way I accomplish that is by teaching them a way to roll to their back and kick so that they are able to breath and simultaniously get themselves to safety. Once that is accomplished, I go over proper techniques for breathing, kicking and body positioning in all four strokes. This builds a solid foundation in the fundamentals of swimming.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a certified lifeguard for 15 years and have been teaching swimming for the last 6. Water is my passion and I take pride in teaching people of all ages discover saftey and independence in the water.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard lessons rate is $50 for 30 mins. This price is negotiable depending on your sepcific details.
