Lora Heaps Jiujitsu Intro
About
Hi, I'm Lora. I've been training for six years and hold a purple belt rank under Professor Matt Simms at Zingano Brazilian Jiujitsu. I coach kids and adults, weekly at the gym and also provide private beginner instruction to a small group of women.
My mission is to introduce you to jiujitsu and self defense in a private setting where you will be more comfortable in taking your first step.
I talk to lots of people who are interested in trying jiujitsu for themselves or their children. They might want to do it for self defense, fitness, stress relief, or to help their children become more confident and disciplined. Not everyone feels comfortable taking that first step, it can be unnerving. I can give you an introduction so you can decide if jiujitsu is something you'd like to pursue.
There's no shortage of good jiujitsu gyms in the area. Most offer a free jiujitsu introductory lesson and some offer self defense seminars at little or no cost. Many gyms are now offering women's only classes taught by amazing ladies that are knowledgeable, welcoming, and love jiujitsu. Girls in Gis is an organization that hosts free events where girls and women can attend a jiujitsu seminar. Beginners are welcome and it's a fun and positive atmosphere. Try jiujitsu whether you do it through me, a gym, a self defense seminar, or a jiujitsu event like Girls in Gis. It can change your life!
