What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Have them sing vocal exercises and prepared pieces to demonstrate their vocal instrument; discuss and implement some immediate strategies for improvement; assign exercises and possible additional pieces to use for practice between lessons.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30 per half hour of lesson time. Payment in advance of the lesson is necessary, and payment for a month in advance is preferred. PayPal or Venmo accepted. Due to increases in gas prices, I also charge a $10 travel fee for in-person lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
Started my teaching career while working on my doctoral degree in 1997; served as a graduate teaching fellow at UNT for 1997-2000. First job was teaching at Ouachita Baptist University 1999-2002.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from ages 8 through 80! However, most of my career I have focused on working with students ages 14-24, high school through graduate school age.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What kinds of music are your favorite kinds to sing? What do you hope to achieve with taking voice and theater lessons? What are you preparing for?
