As a lifelong student of music, I have cultivated a rich foundation of knowledge that I long to share with budding musicians! I enjoy teaching the building blocks of music and then watching my students create from there.

I have two teenaged daughters who have been Mercedes’ students for the last 4 years or so. Wonderful and encouraging teacher. She really gets invested in her students, their goals and aspirations, and they genuinely enjoy being in class with her.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before an initial lesson, I like to do a quick call or meeting to establish clear expectations. On the first lesson, I like to find the baseline of where a student is skill-wise. In addition, we talk about goals and plans for future lessons that we can begin working towards as soon as possible.
