Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I tailor each lesson to the specific skills of each student. No lesson is the same. You will see improvement each
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of tennis and soccer experience. I know all the lessons and skills that are required to teach a beginner or intermediate athlete of either sport. I have trained, been coached, and taught everything there is to know about each. I have run soccer camps for youth in my hometown for years and have given private tennis lessons to kids and beginner adults over the summer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is 20-30$ an hour depending on skill level. I find this price very affordable and it will be the best investment you have made for lessons to date, I have no doubt about that.
How did you get started teaching?
As a teen I wanted to make some money over the summer so I started youth soccer clinics for local kids. It happened more on accident with tennis although I believe I am an even better tennis coach in some ways. My moms friends wanted to learn so I started teaching them and making extra money on the side. I don't charge alot because I love the game so much and enjoy playing myself.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginners and intermediate players for the most part.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The US Open, The World Cup
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There is absolutely no reason you should be paying 50-100 $ an hour for a tennis lesson. We all love the game and I want to teach it to you for an affordable price. 20$-35$, depending on travel and skill level.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much have you put into your game? Where do you see yourself in a year if you really train and give your best effort. What athletic qualities do you think will help you out most? More importantly, what are your weaknesses that you and I can work on?
