Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically talk to the student to get to know a little about them. I then discuss their goals for their tennis. Next, I ask what they think about their tennis game ( if they are above the age of 8). Finally, I give them a playing assessment so I can get a first hand look at their game.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a former division 1 college tennis player who holds certifications with all the major U.S. tennis organizations (usptr, uspta, usta).
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching as a summer job before and during college. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to make a career out of it!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels and ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently went to a street festival that was fun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say first know what you want from your tennis. Then, try to find someone who can provide that for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want from tennis (fitness, fun, improvement, competition?) It could be a combination of some or all.
