Zahra Noor
About
Zahra has been dancing her entire life, with a background in ballet, modern, jazz and tap, which she began at age 2. She did Royal Academy of Dance training in the UK. Zahra also was a competitive figure skater for several years in England and the U.S. But Zahra soon fell in love with Egyptian dance!
She regularly trains with international superstars who live and work in Cairo. Zahra has a deep knowledge and appreciation of the authentic style. Students seek Zahra to learn true Egyptian technique, feeling and musicality.
Zahra has performed and taught overseas, and has placed at several international competitions judged by Egyptian dancers like Lubna Emam, Khaled Mahmoud, Tito Seif, and Sahar Samara, and other superstars who perform in Cairo like Brenda from Argentina and Vanessa from USA.
Locally, she performs at several Middle Eastern and North African restaurants, and private parties.
Zahra's other endeavors include competing on season 2 of Project Belly Dance, an online reality competition show, and performing in Belly Dance Evolution's “Dark Side of the Moon,” a theatrical production created by Belly Dance Superstar Jillina.
Zahra is mostly known as a soloist, but while living in New York City, she performed with the Columbia Belly Dance Troupe, while working on her Master's degree at the university.
