Lingyuan (Maggie) Zhao, received her MFA degree in choreography at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. In 2002, Zhao began professional dance training at the Chongqing Dance School in China where she studied ballet, Chinese Classical dance, and Chinese majority and minority dances. Later, in 2007, Zhao decided to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree at Beijing Capital Normal University where she was introduced, and fell in love with modern and contemporary dance, dance composition, and dance pedagogy.
