Our commitment to excellence in teaching has made us the premier studio for Ballroom and Latin dance in the Delaware Valley.
     We do NOT use level teaching (bronze, silver, gold).   Instead we encourage our dancers to excel to their best potential and teach using methods gleaned from experience and success through thirty five years. We equally encourage persons new to ballroom and Latin dance and experienced dancers.

Carlos Maldonado has had an extraordinary career as a dance instructor for more than thirty years.   His career began in his early twenties, when he applied for instructor training at an Arthur Murray studio.  Beginning the class with 27 other students, the demanding routines and rigorous standards culled out all students but one: Carlos Maldonado.  It was then that he was certified as a Bronze Level Instructor.  Carlos continued his instructor training to become certified as a Silver Level Instructor, equivalent to a B.A. degree in Dance.
He reached the extraordinary level of Gold Level Instructor in his mid-twenties, which is equivalent to a Masters Degree in Ballroom Dance.  As the same time, he trained to compete in ballroom dance, but found he had an aptitude and talent for teaching.  Further training merited him certification as an adjudicator (competition judge) and choreographer.
In the thirty years since beginning his instructor training, Carlos has taught thousands of students the fine points of ballroom and Latin dancing.  His private and group lesson students, alike, proclaim him to be the area’s best dance teacher for ballroom and Latin dancing, from the Fox Trot to waltz, from salsa to tango.  He has taught men and women of all ages: engineers, accountants, teachers, secretaries, business owners, CEOs, attorneys, nurses, and many others.  

Intro to Ballroom and Latin Dance: $12 per person at the door, all welcome, no partner needed.  Intro group classes are currently held Tuesday evenings, 6:30-7:30 pm. 
Beginner 2 group lessons: $15 per person at the door, held Tuesdays, 7:30 - 9 pm.
Intermediate and Advanced group lessons, $18 per person at the door, held Wednesday or Thursday evenings, 7 to 9 pm.
Private lessons are scheduled at the students' convenience.

Carlos's partner, Suzy Keenan, has been teaching for eight years, and specializes in helping wedding couples and beginner students to feel comfortable and enjoy their dancing.

Carousel Ballroom's Beginner Practice Dance is held usually on Friday evenings, once a month.  Our Intermediate students come out to help and encourage beginner students with their dance.  Our students are friendly, welcoming, and encouraging to each other, and especially new students.

All are welcome at our dance parties and lessons, no partner is needed. 

Carefully interview the studios in your area.  Some studios work on the Bronze, Silver, and Gold level dancing, which can be very costly and take considerable time to advance through the levels.
Carousel Ballroom encourages dancers to advance at to their best potential.
Consider your goals for dancing.  Do you want to learn to dance socially, or do you want to compete in dance competitions?  This will influence your selection of a studio.  
Carousel Ballroom specializes in social dancing, although we sometimes have spotlight dances to encourage our private lesson students.
