As the owner, I've been social dancing since 1983. I started off as someone who was simply looking for more confidence in myself. I thought dancing would help me with that as well as help me meet people.
I never thought my wife and I would own a dance studio but one small step led to another. We believe in never saying 'no' when opportunity calls; you never know where a 'yes' may take you.
Seeing students move across the floor with their heads up and smiles on their faces is an example of someone who got out of their comfort zone to do something most people won't do. Nobody pays attention to the people who sit on the sideline and watch others. Dancing is a great way to stand out from the crowd and be an example to those who need that extra push to do the same.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Learning to dance is all about learning fundamentals. Every student gets taught these whether they start with private lessons or take the Introduction to Social Dance class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching social dancing professionally since 1983 and has taught thousands of people for everything from club dancing to wedding couples. Some of our teachers at Take the Lead have performed across the country and around the world as top professional competitors.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer group classes, private lessons and practice parties. Unlike most studios, we do not make students buy a combination of those types of classes as a set package. Instead, we encourage students to design their own combination based on their goals and talent levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A student came in for lessons with very little confidence in their ability to learn but willing to try. She had a high pressure job and was looking for a stress relief. After a few months, she has been a regular at our group classes, dance socials and has been organizing events outside of the studio with friends she has made on the dance floor.
