The Aldrich School Of Music

About

I teach according to every client's personal needs, so that they get the most satisfaction and joy at attaining each of their goals. I have over 35 years of performing and teaching experience and bring that ability to each lesson so that each student stands out and excels over their competition.

I have always felt that if one is enjoying what they do immensely, they will strive to do their best to help others the same way. I love to teach music more than anything...that translates to my joy at seeing my client's succeed-because I do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Frequently asked questions

I always do my best to get my new students to explain their personal goals and needs.  After knowing this, I teach according to what they each need.  Every students is different and so are their goals.  By making sure they accomplish those goals, I know that they are getting their money's worth, and I get the satisfaction of knowing that I have done my best for them to succeed.

Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education                          The Florida State University School of Music

Associate of Arts in Music Education                                       The State College of Florida-Sarasota/Bradenton Campus

Over 35 years of performance and teaching experience.

My rates are competitive and start at $30 for a half hour lesson and $50 for each 1 hour lesson.  The rate is more for those that start with more experience or have more difficult goals to achieve.  Lesson payment is made in advance, and is based on how many lessons each students wants to have multiplied by the rate of each lesson, and I accept cash only. Since I teach at each clients' location, I only charge more than the agreed upon rate if the location is in excess of 25 miles from my house, but I will gladly work with my students for a mutually acceptable pricing agreement.  I also offer referral discounts, so that for each (paid) lesson from a client that has been referred to me, I will discount the refering client's rate accordingly.

I started teaching after my first 2 years of college, on the advice of my professors that saw how much I loved helping my fellow musicians succeed.

I have taught all ages from 8 to 74 and with all abilities.  I always do my best to make my clients perform at their best, regardless of their ability when starting lesons with me.  Lesson enjoyment and improvement is what I always work toward.

I love whenever my students achieve their goals.  My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing my students get rewarded with scholarships for their music ability after I teach them.  Also when they reach their stated goals, especially when they believe they are unattainable.  That's what I consider success.

Consider the teacher's experience and qualifications.  Anyone can say they can teach, but I can prove it.  My students' musical successes are the best proof of my love and my ability for teaching.  I don't have to say I'm successful-my students do it for me.

Lesson fees are obviously worth researching-considering my ability and proven successes with my students, my rates are priced reasonably and competitively from others in my field.  I often charge on a sliding scale based on the student's needs and budget, and will gladly work with those that I feel have the talent and ambition to work hard enough to achieve their goals. Seeing my students succeed makes what I do worthwhile-so look for someone that is willing to teach that way for you.
