Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Matching the student with the right horse and program. We focus on safety for horse & handler. We are closed June - August every year due to the extreme heat in Florida.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have owned, rode, and trained horses for over 50 years and worked at many farms, barns & ranches.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons start at $40 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I have own horses and been riding over 50 years. English, Western, Trails, Obstacles, Driving, etc. I currently train in Breakaway roping.
What types of students have you worked with?
Currently ages 16 and over. Weight limits May confine some students to non- riding programs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love equine obstacle training! The goal is to improve trust, confidence and communication between horse & handler.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Enjoy it. There’s always good days & not so good days. It’s a journey. There’s always more to come.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Definitely define their goals. Some goals are not realistic due to the student not having enough experience or understanding of what is attainable or what it takes to reach their goals.
