Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process when working with a new student is first going through scales with them to determine their breath support, range, and ability to match pitch.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 8+ years of formal training in classical, pop, and musical theatre genres. I will receive a Bachelors of Arts in Music in December 2018
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Current pricing is:

*Extended travel lessons include the instructor traveling a minimum of 16 miles and up to 30 miles to the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I found immense joy when I began taking private lessons with my former vocal coach. Being able to finally do something vocal-wise that took practice meant the world to me and I wanted to be able for someone else to have that feeling as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with mostly college students (men and women) but I am open to coaching all ages 14 and up.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am fond of is when my former vocal student was able to perfect a song she came to me with in hopes of being able to sing it to her boyfriend. When she finished, the pure look of joy and excitement warmed my heart. I am always proudest of my students and the work that they have put in, in these moments.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire someone who you believe will best help you and your path. Reach out to some professionals to see if you connect with them and if they are willing to help you with your goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I firmly believe students should think through pricing, consistsency with lessons and the dedicated time that they would need for practicing, their commute, the ability for a single lesson trial, and their goals for starting vocal lessons.
