About this pro

We are Pensacola's premier dance studio and have been in business for 29 years.  We are currently the Best of the Bay, Best Dance Studio for 2017.  Our instructors have well over 100 years of experience and several have degrees in dance.  We build character, self-respect and self-esteem through the art of dance.  Our award winning competition team travels throughout the year and competes nationally.  The competition and performing team performs at numerous community events during the year.  We help our students get dance scholarships to various universities.  Not only do we offer professional dance instruction, but we also get our dancers involved in the community.  Please visit our website at fiveflagsdanceacademy.com and like our facebook page for updates and information.

FAQs

We interivew the parent and/or student to find out about their past dance experience so that we can place the student in the proper class or experience level for private lessons.  We wil then evaluate after each lesson or class.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Dance Degree, Southern Mississippi

Masters Degree in Education, University of Mobile

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

We bill by the minute.

30 mintues = $50

45 mintues = $55 and so on.  Recreational unlimited class are $125.00

How did you get started teaching?

My parents have been in dance for 60+ years and have owned 7+ studios.  Both of my sisters currently own studios.

What types of students have you worked with?

18 months to 76 years old.  We currently teach a 76 year old Tap.  We also work with and train students that live and work in Las Vegas.  Tropicana and So You Think You Can Dance.  Our Choreographer and Company Director was the Tremaine Dancer fo the Year!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We choreographed a 50+ person "flash mob" for the city of Pensacola.

Taugh lessons with autistic children at Booker T Washington HS.

Many community outreach events

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Do you research and visit a studio that has been in business for awhile.  There's a reason a Studio lasts a long time.  There's many studios that are "fly-by-night".  I would also pick up the phone and schedule a tour.  We highly encourage this.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Where they have danced.

How many years of experience.

Desired outcome...recreational or professional or just to get excercise.
