About
Teaching traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate. I am a Yondan, or 4th degree certified black belt instructor. We Offer classes for students ages 7 and up. Classes are Tuesday evenings (juniors only), Thursday evenings (all ages) and Saturday mornings (all ages).
I am passionate about teaching and training, but more important learning. I travel at least two to three times a year for trying seminars in my organization so I can continue to learn and grow and bring that to my students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We take students of any physical condition (7 years and up) or experience level and teach them the art of Goju Ryu from the ground up. We are not a “Belt factory” as it takes a long time to earn a black belt.
”A black belt is a white belt that never gave up.”
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained in this art for about 25 years and have an additional 6 years in another style. I recently went to Okinawa to train and take two to three trips a year to train with some of the best practitioners in the world. I bring what I have learned directly back to the dojo.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing discussed upon first meeting. The most important aspect is for you to find a dojo that meets your needs.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in the late 1990’s to help my instructor teach beginners at his dojo. All black belt candidates are expected to assist in teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and skill sets. We accept students at all levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently spent two weeks in Okinawa to attend the IOGKF 2019 Gishki event, training with some of the top instructors in the world.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don’t look for a school that discusses a timeline for achieving belt levels. The focus should always be about the training.
