Transitions Voice Lab is dedicated to providing professional and affordable vocal training for people of all ages, genders, and skill levels. We offer coaching for both singers and people looking to improve their speaking voice.
Norwood (he/him) is a BAST-certified professional vocal coach, international recording artist, actor, emcee and public speaker. Over the years he has trained under the best vocal coaches in the nation, and studied a range of techniques including classical vocal training, and the SLS (Speech Level Singing) method. As a Vocal Health First Aider, Norwood is trained to help spot the signs of vocal problems and refer students to the appropriate medical professionals for treatment. He also has specialized training to work with transgender students on their voice. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Norwood knows first-hand what it’s like to not be accepted for who you are... music was the catalyst that helped him through difficult times. He is on a mission to help people of all ages, genders and expressions find their authentic voice!

I really enjoyed my voice session with Norwood and I learned a lot! He is very passionate about helping his clients to work on their breathing and I could tell how much he cares about his clients because he was rooting me on and encouraging me with every new exercise. Since our virtual meeting, I have been practicing the exercises and they have given me confidence and helped me to improve my breathing and speaking ability.
I highly recommend meeting with Norwood. His enthusiasm for his craft is highly contagious. Even if it is just a 30 minute session, he will provide you with exercises and the confidence to improve your voice to the point where you are more concerned with the words you are speaking rather than worrying about how you sound to other people!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was very proud to perform at WorldPride in Madrid in 2017 for a crowd of several hundred thousand people - it was definitely a huge highlight of my performing career!
I also find joy in the special moments when I am teaching, like when I finally help a student conquer a difficult song or understand their voice better.
