Swim Lessons With Devan
About
I have been teaching swim lessons for over ten years. I have taught all levels and ages of learners. In addition to providing swim lessons for years, I was a competitive swimmer and an all-american NCAA swimmer. I find teaching lessons to be intrinsically rewarding and I teach in a very intuitive manner that caters to each students needs.
Teaching others how to swim is so rewarding because of the confidence it instills in each student. Providing parents with the assurance that their child is safe in the water after receiving lessons is such a gift I feel honored to give.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will spend the first lesson evaluating where they are at and discussing either with the parent or student where they hope to be by the end of our swim lesson sessions. From there I develop a specific lesson plan catered to that student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught lessons for over ten years in all types of settings. I am cpr and first aid certified.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $25 for every thirty minute lesson. For two students I will do a lesson for 40 minutes and charge $40. Adults and advanced swimmers I will provide anywhere from 30-60 minute lessons that will range from $30-50.
How did you get started teaching?
I was a swimmer from a very young age and it just came naturally.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types and ages. Special needs as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is confident in their abilities as a teacher because it will help you become more confident in the water.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think through what you hope to gain or what your goals are and feel free to discuss those with your teacher.
