About
I provide high-quality, fun and effective online voice lessons with over 8 years of experience as a music educator. I am currently the lead vocal instructor for Altered Stage of Chicago.
With my digital studio, you can study from the comfort of your own home during times that work best for you with a professional opera singer! I have performed in Italy, Australia, Croatia and even Carnegie Hall, and received two musical degrees from Northwestern University.
I have studied a wide array of genres, and my biggest focus is to make sure that every student has the tools they need to sing both healthfully and passionately. I've worked all skill levels: such as a lawyer who had never taken a voice lesson before, to a master of opera who was making their Met Competition Debut.

I strive to create a safe and encouraging environment for whatever your vocal goals may be. I hope to see you soon!

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching when I realized that connecting with other people and sharing my love for music was the true reason why I became an artist. I found immense satisfaction in helping my students become better while reaching those "epiphany" moments!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all skill levels and absolutely love the different challenges they present. I love working with beginners as much as I do fellow professionals because I find that each have their own puzzles to solve, which is what keeps my job exciting!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I spontaneously performed at the top of the Croatian Island, Cres for a village of 4 people, built by the Romans 4,000 years ago. It was so amazing to be able to sing into the Adriatic Sea and feel connected with the voices of the past.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pick someone who makes you feel comfortable and safe. There's no better way to learn an instrument or skill than with a teacher who is kind, patient and willing to provide you with many ways to look at a potential challenge. A good teacher will be adaptive and willing to learn, just like you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The most common question I get is "how do I sing well?"
Well. That's a tough one because honestly, it is different for every person.
I find that the the question stems from a series of different issues: one being social pressures (have you been told you cannot sing in the past?), another is skill (just like anything, you must learn to connect your brain to the muscles associated with your voice...it won't happen overnight!), and the last is guidance (have you ever worked with someone before?).
My goal is to work closely with every student to personalize their education so that they can develop the tools they need to solve problems on their own, so they can be free to sing without limitations!
