Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It's simple; I assess where you are in your journey, get to know you a bit, and we get to work on your goals. First lessons are fun because they involve some singing, lots of talking, and seeing what works for you. That's because my specialty is really understanding how to speak to you in your individual learning style. You're getting an experience entirely designed for you!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in Vocal Pedogogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College. I have a Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Delaware.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Hour lessons are $90.00, and 45 minute lessons are $75.00.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds! I've worked with middle schoolers, high schoolers, college aged students, young professionals, amateur adults, and fantastic seniors! I love working with a very wide range of people.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There are too many student successes to count, and I am so grateful! Seeing my students thrive in individual auditions and going after their dreams makes my heart feel so full.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try out lessons with a few different teachers; see what works for you! It's all about the feeling that you get in your gut during the first few lessons. There's another "gut instinct" you should pay attention to as well--how does your voice feel after these lessons? Pay attention to what your body is telling you! It always knows best.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals?
What can I afford each month?
How much time am I willing to dedicate to this endeavor?
