Allen's Singing Lessons
About
Lessons with me will each be unique to you. Learning to sing isn't necissarily a cookie cutter approach and as I get to know you, I will prepare specific things that will help you in your goals.
My Primary experience is in classical, musical theater and sacred music.
What I love about teaching voice is that each person is so unique.Your body is your vocal instrument and only you can master that instrument. I love approaching each student as a puzzle with their own specific needs and goals. I love to help you make your own discoveries about yourself as a singer. I love to sing and make a connection with others as I do, I want to help you do that too! Let's work together to make your singing fun anf fulfilling!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I begin working with a new student, I will spend time getting to know you and your musical goals. I want to help you improve in the ways you want and need the most. I will start by teaching you about the proper breathing for healthy singing and then do some vocal warm ups. Then it’s time to hear you sing a song of your choosing so that I can assess what we can work on first. Its exciting to get started and see the first things that make you better even in the first lesson!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. I have been trained to teach vocal technique and have many hours of performance experience which allows me to teach you how to best prepare and perform for your singing opportunities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I have worked in leadership in music ensembles for many years but began teaching in a speial program in my college where after completing the Vocal Pedogogy Class with honors, began assiting in instructing incoming freshman to the vocal program. I began teaching other students and then built my own following of voice students after I graduated.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children of all ages, teaching them singing and stage performance. I have worked one on one teaching vocal technique primarily to teens and young adults with a few students being middle aged or older.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Remember that every teacher works differently and its important to find a good match. Finding the right teacher for you will help you really excel and make great progress.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask yourself-
What goals do you want to achieve?
What challenges do you think you have right now?
What are you willing to do to improve?
