I love to see my students grow and take agency in their own work. So many of my students have produced their own albums, gotten back into full time performing, and created their own DIY music videos, too!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Voice: first half of lesson is healthy technique, second half is whatever you want to work material wise!
songwriting: we write complete songs over the course of 3-4 lessons. By the 4th lesson, we have the option of making a demo. Sometimes I'll bring my students to open mics!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was classically trained at Vanderbilt and graduated from Columbia as a theater major. I have over a decade of professional experience in the theater and music industries, and I have been teaching privately for over 15 years. I have also taught voice at northwestern, Columbia, and songwriting all over the city privately and in groups.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching friends in high school that needed coaching for auditioning. I had a knack for it, and colleges started hiring me to do it, so I kept going!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages! Middle school all the way to adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm particularly proud of one of my students who used to be really shy about writing. She now insists on recording a new song with me every 4 lessons!
